I am in need of rehoming my 8 year old female hound mix, and I wanted to use this network to see if you or anyone you know might want an addition to your family.
She has been well cared for all her life by a local Auburn Veterinarian who is also a graduate of the Auburn Vet School. I have all of her records. She has been spayed and is up to date on all her vaccinations and preventatives, including a monthly dose of Simparica Trio.
The reason for rehoming her is that she needs to be in a home without cats. Being a hound, she has the instincts of such, and my husband and I have reached the decision to find her a loving home so she can live at peace without cats. We have tried other things, because we absolutely think that pet ownership is a commitment for the life of the animal. We have a solid track record of being devoted to our animals for that duration. However, part of loving our girl is to now find her a loving home. (She has never hunted and has not been trained to do so.)
She is smart, gentle, and friendly and she loves to be around people. Currently she lives with our three other dogs (Dachshund mix, springer spaniel, and a pittie mix) and they all get along well. She has never been aggressive to people. She stays inside mostly, and sleeps inside every night. But she loves the outdoors, and comes in and goes out during the day. She is completely housebroken and does not chew on furniture or personal items. However, she loves her own chew toys. She is not a high energy dog, but she loves walks and then relaxing with the family.
She would make a great companion for a college student or even an older person or couple who might want a fur friend. She will come with her bed, two months of Simparica, and a week of food.
Please consider her if you are thinking of adding a good dog to your family, or pass this information on to someone else who might be. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
Thank you so much!
