The National Fibromyalgia Foundation seeks a Development Associate to support all fundraising efforts for our growing and innovative organization.
Who We Are
Supporting research to find the cause, treatment, and/or cure for Fibromyalgia. Actively create awareness about the disease. Provide resources for people who have Fibromyalgia (FMS) or who know somebody with FMS. It is estimated that 12 million people have FMS.
We realize our mission through:
• Collaborative research projects and clinical studies in order to further the understanding of FMS and closer to finding treatment and/or cure.
• Provide resources and information on our website which helps people who have Fibromyalgia and family and friends to better understand and cope with this disease.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs distinct development functions as follows:

• Write grants and grant reports, providing all required documentation, financial and other information within all time limits and other parameters.
• Maintain and maximize the success of current grants, while identifying and cultivating new local, regional and national grant opportunities.
• Researching new grant opportunities
• Preparing all grant applications
• Cultivating and maintaining relationships with granting organizations
• Functions effectively in an individual working environment, with little supervision; a self-starter
• Create a tracking database to deliver requested reports, spreadsheets and correspondence on a routine basis
• Plans, organizes, coordinates and manages daily activities to support grant application efforts/success.
Qualified candidates will have had medical experience, education, or training. This position requires a moderate understanding of medical knowledge and terminology to effectively and creatively qualify for grants and write winning grant proposals.
